On March 9, Bay FC confirmed that defender Alyssa Malonson will miss the upcoming campaign. The club transferred her to the season-ending injury list after she sustained a torn ACL during a preseason training camp. The injury rules her out of the team's home opener, where they were scheduled to begin their season against the expansion squad Denver Summit FC.
The fullback originally arrived at Bay FC in December 2023 as the top selection in the 2024 NWSL Expansion Draft. During her inaugural year with the club, she played in 22 regular-season matches. Her professional milestone arrived on June 7, 2025, when she netted her first goal in a game against Portland Thorns FC.
Prior to her time in California, Malonson was part of the Seattle Reign—then known as OL Reign—in 2022. During that period, she completed a loan spell in Denmark with FC Nordsjælland, taking the field 13 times. While the North Carolina Courage initially selected her in the 2021 NWSL Draft, the COVID-19 pandemic prompted her to complete a fifth year of collegiate soccer at Auburn University instead.
