Bayern Munich has officially welcomed Bernadette Amani to their team. The Ivorian midfielder joins from CD Tenerife with a contract lasting until 2029.
FC Bayern Munich has officially signed Bernadette Amani, a 28-year-old midfielder, from the Spanish club CD Tenerife. Amani has signed a contract that will keep her at Bayern until 2029. This move is expected to boost the team's attacking strength.
Amani was born in Ivory Coast, where she began her football career. She later moved to Spain in 2019, playing for teams like Eibar and CD Tenerife. During her time at Tenerife, she played in 13 out of 14 league matches this season, starting in 12 of them and scoring one goal, helping her team to a fifth-place ranking in Spain's top division.
Bianca Rech, director of women's football at Bayern, praised Amani's skills, describing her as a strong and compact player who excels in duels. Rech noted Amani's eagerness to learn and her team-oriented nature, which will be valuable for Bayern's success. "We are very happy that she has chosen FC Bayern, and we look forward to the time together," Rech added.
Bernadette Amani expressed her joy about joining Bayern Munich, stating that this move is a dream come true for her. She aims to integrate quickly into the team and deliver strong performances, emphasizing her commitment to teamwork. Amani mentioned that Bayern is highly regarded in her home country, making this opportunity even more special.
Amani will not need to adjust to colder weather, as Bayern will head to a training camp in Seville, Spain, from January 9 to 16. The milder climate there will be a welcome change from the winter conditions in Munich.
