FC Bayern Munich ended 2025 with a win. They beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in the first game after the winter break. This gives Bayern a six-point lead over VfL Wolfsburg in second place. The team now goes into the winter break as leaders.
Franziska Kett scored first for Bayern in the 16th minute. Momoko Tanikawa added a goal from a penalty in the 75th minute. Georgia Stanway scored another penalty in the 86th minute. Pernille Harder missed a penalty earlier, but the team still won.
Bayern won 13 of 14 games in the first half of the season. Their only draw was 0-0 against Carl Zeiss Jena. Coach José Barcala said Leverkusen made the game hard. Bayern had beaten them before this season.
Bayern played without Giulia Gwinn and captain Glodis Viggosdottir. Both were ill. This made it tough to play well against Leverkusen. But Kett's early goal helped the team get going.
