FC Bayern Munich women started the year with a win. They beat RB Leipzig 3-0 on a snowy field at home. Coach José Barcala led the team. This win made their lead over VfL Wolfsburg nine points in the league.
The game was on a cold Sunday evening. They used an orange ball because of the snow. Momoko Tanikawa scored first in the fifth minute from a penalty. The penalty came after a handball by Andrea Norheim. Bayern had trouble playing their normal way in the snow.
In the second half, Bayern scored two fast goals. Kyra Spitzner of Leipzig put the ball in her own net in the 67th minute. Jovana Damjanovic scored two minutes later. This is the twelfth win in a row for Bayern in the league.
Bayern plays Jena next week. Jena is last in the league. Earlier this season, Bayern lost points to Jena. This game is important to stay strong.
RB Leipzig is now four points from the drop zone. This is after Hamburger SV beat SGS Essen.
