The Houston Dash have officially traded Yazmeen Ryan and Delanie Sheehan to the Denver Summit in a million-dollar transaction on March 19.
On March 19, the Houston Dash confirmed the departure of Yazmeen Ryan and Delanie Sheehan to the Denver Summit. In return for the two athletes, Houston secures $1 million in total compensation. This package is broken down into two distinct categories:
As part of the broader transaction, the Dash have agreed to forward $150,000 in allocation funds to the Summit. Houston also retains a conditional sell-on fee attached to any future movements involving the traded players.
Both Ryan and Sheehan, each 27 years old, bring substantial title-winning experience to Denver. Sheehan entered the professional ranks in 2021 as a draft pick for NJ/NY Gotham FC. Over four seasons with the club, she helped secure three postseason berths and lifted a championship trophy in 2023.
Ryan also began her career in 2021 after being drafted by the Portland Thorns. Her rookie campaign yielded a Women's International Champions Cup victory. She subsequently earned NWSL Championship titles in both 2022 and 2023.
The duo departs Houston shortly after finalizing new deals. Sheehan initially arrived at the Dash during the offseason, agreeing to a two-year contract set to run through 2026. Meanwhile, Ryan came to the organization following a record trade and had recently committed to a three-year extension that would have kept her with the team until 2027.
