Hamburger SV is adding two players from Italy to fix its defense. The team wants to stay in the top league.
Hamburger SV has the weakest defense in the league. It has let in 38 goals this season. The team signed Gloria Sliskovic and Magou Doucouré during the winter break. These players will help make the defense stronger. Doucouré will play as a right-back.
Magou Doucouré played for FC Bayern. That team won the German title and DFB-Pokal in the 2024/25 season. She did not play much there. She only appeared briefly in one Champions League game. Gloria Sliskovic is a young player from Bosnia. She is a national team player. She had little playing time at SSC Napoli. That is why she moved to HSV.
HSV made four new signings this winter. Besides Sliskovic and Doucouré, they got goalkeeper Lea Paulick from Eintracht Frankfurt. They also took midfielder Paulina Bartz from Bayer 04 Leverkusen on loan. The team is working hard to avoid dropping to a lower league.
The new players might play soon. HSV faces SGS Essen this Sunday at 4 PM. This match is very important for the team.
