Melissa Kössler is leaving TSG Hoffenheim. She will play in the NWSL in the United States.
TSG Hoffenheim's women's team will miss their top forward, Melissa Kössler. The club said on Tuesday that the 25-year-old player is going to the National Women's Soccer League in the US.
The club did not name her new team. Reports say it might be Boston Legacy, a new team there. Kössler joined Hoffenheim in 2022. She has helped the team a lot since then.
In this Bundesliga season, Kössler scored six goals in ten games. She is the second-top scorer for Hoffenheim. Only Selina Cerci has more, with ten goals. Cerci shares the league lead with Alexandra Popp from Wolfsburg.
Kössler has played two games for Germany's national team. This move to the NWSL is a new step in her career. She wants to grow as a player.
