London City Lionesses, a women's football club in England, have signed Delphine Cascarino. The 28-year-old French player will stay with the team until the summer of 2029.
Delphine Cascarino played for Olympique Lyonnais in France for many years. She won nine league titles and six Champions League trophies there. She scored 31 goals in 204 matches.
In summer 2024, she went to the United States to play for San Diego Wave. She made 34 appearances and scored seven goals.
Cascarino has played for France since 2016. She has 86 matches and 16 goals for the senior team. She was in big tournaments like the World Cup and Olympics.
Cascarino is happy to join London City. She said, "London City is the only independent women's club in the WSL, which excites me a lot. England is the country of football for both men and women. It has always been my goal to play in this league. I want to play in the Champions League here at London City and win many trophies."
Coach Eder Maestre is excited too. He said Cascarino is a great winger who can beat players one-on-one. He likes her winning attitude on and off the field.
