Lucy Bronze has made history by becoming the first player to be selected eight times in the FIFPRO Women's World 11. The latest team features six players from England and includes two African players for the first time.
Lucy Bronze, defender for Chelsea and England, has set a new record by being named in the FIFPRO Women's World 11 for the eighth time. This record-breaking selection highlights her consistent performance and recognition by fellow professional players worldwide.
The team is chosen through votes by over 6,000 professional women footballers from around the world. Bronze's eighth selection surpasses the previous record held by France's Wendie Renard, who had seven appearances.
This year’s World 11 includes two African players for the first time: Barbra Banda from Zambia, who earned her second selection, and Ghizlane Chebbak from Morocco, making her debut. Spain’s Ona Batlle also appears in the team for the first time.
Following their consecutive European Championship wins, England is the most represented country with six players in the lineup. Newcomers Hannah Hampton, a goalkeeper, and forward Chloe Kelly join established players Millie Bright, Leah Williamson, and Alessia Russo.
Spain’s Alexia Putellas, a former Ballon d’Or winner, and current holder Aitana Bonmatí retain their places. Mariona Caldentey, runner-up in this year’s Ballon d’Or, narrowly missed out on selection.
