Awards Ceremony Details

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) will hold its first-ever awards event on November 19, 2025. The ceremony will be broadcast live on ESPN2 from San Jose, California. It will honor the top players and coaches from the 2025 season, just before the NWSL Championship match.

Voting Process

The winners are chosen through a voting process. Fans can vote for their favorites until November 12 at 8 p.m. ET. The fan vote counts for 10% of the total. The rest comes from votes by players, coaches, owners, and media. Fans can also vote for the Best XI, which recognizes the top 22 players in the league.

The finalists for the 2025 NWSL Awards are:

• Most Valuable Player: Delphine Cascarino (SD), Temwa Chawinga (KC), Esther González (GFC), Manaka Matsukubo (NC), Bia Zaneratto (KC)
• Defender of the Year: Jordyn Bugg (SEA), Tara McKeown (WAS), Avery Patterson (HOU), Izzy Rodriguez (KC), Kayla Sharples (KC)
• Goalkeeper of the Year: Ann-Katrin Berger (GFC), Claudia Dickey (SEA), Lorena (KC)
• Midfielder of the Year: Kenza Dali (SD), Debinha (KC), Claire Hutton (KC), Manaka Matsukubo (NC), Olivia Moultrie (POR)
• Rookie of the Year: Maddie Dahlien (SEA), Lilly Reale (GFC), Riley Tiernan (LA)
• Coach of the Year: Vlatko Andonovski (KC), Adrian Gonzalez (WAS), Beverly Yanez (LOU)

Additional Honors

The ceremony will also announce the winner of the Lauren Holiday Impact Award. Earlier this season, Claire Hutton from Kansas City was named the LHIA Fan Impact Challenge winner.

Upcoming Championship

The NWSL Championship will be played on November 22, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET at PayPal Park in San Jose, California. The match will be shown live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
