Union Berlin has signed Amber Tysiak, a Belgian national team player, from West Ham United. The club is paying around 175,000 EUR for the transfer. The length of her contract is not public yet.
Amber Tysiak is a 25-year-old center-back. She is tall at 5'10" and strong on the field. She has played against top teams in Europe. Union Berlin expects her to add stability to the defense. Jennifer Zietz, the director of women's professional football at Union, says Tysiak will fit in fast and help the team.
Tysiak started playing in Belgium for teams like Genk and Leuven. She joined West Ham in January 2023. There, she became a key player, starting 52 of 57 matches. She made 58 appearances and scored four goals. Now she is happy to join Union Berlin and play again with striker Hannah Eurlings from the national team and past club Leuven.
Tysiak has been on the Belgian national team since 2021 with 47 caps. She played every minute of the group stage at EM 2025. She looks forward to the Berlin stadium and fans. Tysiak says Union Berlin is growing in women's football, and she is excited to join this path.
